Alida Whiteoak writes almost every day, grammar be damned. Words don’t always play nicely with her, but that’s never stopped a good story from slipping through.

Alida grew up in Sydney, Australia, and spent fifteen years working as a nurse before burnout nudged her toward a slower, stranger kind of life. In that quiet, characters began to form: chatty, curious, and impossible to ignore. Overtime, they became books: Catch You ’Round Alligator, a tender ode to her stepdad, and The Curious Case of Minty Green, inspired by afternoons with her nieces.

She is currently yelling at her first middle-grade novel and finalising a comic picture book for release in 2027.

These days, Alida lives with her French bulldog, Teo, and splits her time between writing and sipping tea.
